There’s people who love BBQ and there are people who are serious about BBQ. Chef Adam Perry Lang is one of those people, a best-selling author who penned Serious Barbecue: Smoke, Char, Baste & Brush Your Way to Great Outdoor Cooking along with BBQ 25. But what makes this guy so serious about barbecue is that he basically converted an 18-wheeler bed into a humongous, moveable pit.

One of the reasons that Perry created this pit was to bring a little slice of the country to the city folks. He setup a Backlot BBQ over the course of the summer in LA and has since moved to live on the West Coast. I found it fascinating that a classically trained chef was this passionate about barbecue and enjoyed his BBQ sliders at Meatopia Texas immensely.
