Walking into Rosella Coffee Co. for the first time, I was greeted by giant chalkboard walls transcribed with the menu as a hip playlist hums lightly in the background. A friendly barista asked politely for my order. Coffee shops, like Rosella, have always served as the quintessential corner for any community offering good conversation, positive vibes and excellent coffee. Rosella embodies all those aspects with that little something extra that separates it from other coffee shops in town.
The airy building was formerly a plumbing supply warehouse renovated by the Dado Group, the same building and design company that transformed the Granary and the Monterey. The shop has a clean industrial feel to it with cool light fixtures, brick walls and a lofted second floor. The large floor-to-ceiling length windows reveal the outdoor patio lined with chairs and tables—ideal for sipping coffee in the evening.
Outside of its welcoming floor plan, Rosella serves some good ol’ java that makes it one of my favorite coffee stops. Their signature coffee is sourced from Austin’s Cuvée Coffee Roasting Company. Besides their house coffee, Rosella also offers wine and beer, which is welcomed by the evening crowd with open arms.

When venturing to Rosella, I recommend stepping outside your comfort zone and trying something outside of a traditional brew—their espresso beverages offer just that! The lattes at Rosella are popular, with several different types and flavors such as caramel, vanilla and chai. On my first visit, I ordered the vanilla latte. The espresso was smooth with earthy undertones, which serves as the perfect base for the semi-sweet caffeinated beverage.
On a return trip to Rosella, I decided to try their chai latte. When sipping the chai, I noticed the cardamom, cinnamon and nutmeg peek through the steamed milk. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would order it again and again.
Their food choices have a nice simplicity that pair well with beverages. The avocado toast was a class act. The toast is extra crunchy with avocado pieces beautifully arranged on the top, seasoned with cumin, crushed salt and olive oil that left me wishing for more.

With toast being a popular breakfast option at Rosella, they provide several varieties to chose from, such as oatmeal, banana and apple & cheddar. Rosella’s selection of sandwiches and dinner plates take them to the next level, from a coffee shop to a lunch spot.
Collaboration is key at Rosella. They receive their juices from Crave Market, a San Antonio based company that thrives on healthy juice flavors like orange, apple, cacao, beet and other seasonal choices. The bakery items are brought in from Bakery Lorraine, with delicious daily items including muffins, cookies, blondies and cinnamon rolls.
Whether you are stopping by for your morning coffee or a late lunch, Rosella Coffee Co. is a charming space with a friendly staff, an airy floor plan and quality java that makes them worth a visit.
