
When Trey Azar decided to start his Cinco Vodka distillery on the Southeast part of San Antonio, he said that he knew he needed to learn from the best. This led Azar to bring in experts from Europe to help design the facility, build the copper still and teach him the distillation process in order to make a premium vodka. “We are actually a single ingredient, custom product. What I mean by that is we use winter wheat, we don’t use any bulk materials or bulk ethanol,” Azar said.
In the tasting room at the San Antonio Cocktail Conference, I was able to sample his cocktail that would go perfect with a South Texas summer. Made with Cinco Vodka, fresh squeezed lime juice, a touch of simple syrup and topped off with club soda, the cocktail is as refreshing as it is easy to make.
