The semester has come to an end and I am no longer the SA Flavor intern. This is a sad post for me because I have truly enjoyed the internship and I know I will miss writing about the great places I eat every week.
Having a full-time job while in grad school can sometimes be rough and this semester was no exception. Even though I may have been exhausted at some points, I was always excited to write my next post and try new restaurants out. I enjoyed learning from Garrett and learning about myself from my writing. I used to write for the student newspaper as an undergrad student, but over the last few years I had forgotten how much I truly love writing. This internship gave me a reason and push to start writing again and something new to be excited about.
I learned to change some bad writing habits (I can be repetitive, wordy and yet vague at the same time) and will continue to work on improving my skills. Becoming more aware of what areas of my writing I can improve on and what areas I excel in has been the best lesson from interning with SA Flavor. I learned a lot more, but I won’t bore you with every detail. Do know that other than better writing skills, I have also taken away a renewed love of San Antonio and the beautiful treasures we have in our great city.
Finally, I want to thank you for reading my weekly posts and if you ended up trying any of my favorite places, I hope you truly enjoyed them. Garrett may have me write a post from time-to-time, so you may still see me around every so often. But for now, adios my dear SA Flavor friends! It’s been fun!
