Playoff basketball is in the air, and it’s another elimination game for the Spurs. I was at the game where Miracle Manu and the Real Deal Neal hit two amazing shots to propel the Spurs to victory. Be sure to tune in tonight at 8:00PM as they face the Grizzlies in Game 6. This is going to be a hard fought game, as our Spurs will not go gently into that good night.
- I won a silent auction for a dinner for a group of folks at Los Barrios that benefited the Ronald McDonald House. I got to go out there recently and was impressed by the food, service, and patio. The margaritas also pack a punch and you’ll be singing with the guitar player on the patio before you know it.
- Looking for a good deal in town? Check out QUPSavings on Twitter; if you follow them you will be on the inside of some pretty amazing “flash deals” in the Alamo City.
- There is a little dive on the Austin Highway called Rita’s Enchiladas. For $6.50 you can get a plate called The Mix that comes with two enchiladas, two flautas, and a taco dorado. Wash it down with a Mexican Coke and you are in for a treat. The green salsa is really spicy as well.
- The non food link of the week goes to the San Antonio Sports and Social Club. Check them out to join one of their many intermural teams; I have been fortunate to make a lot of great friends by playing sand volleyball. Sign ups are taking place now through May 13th for the next sand volleyball season. After the game, head over to The Hangar to grab a brew and a Chunky’s burger. My favorite is the Texas Kicker, a hamburger with thick cuts of bacon, tons of queso, fried jalapeƱos on Texas Toast; truly a heart attack on a plate!
