This is Make San Antonio’s first one-of-a-kind Fiesta medal—and they’re staying true to their maker-inspired mission to foster innovation. Here’s what Jennifer Herrera of Make San Antonio had to say:
“We used two pieces of laser cut 1/8” midwest plywood, which we glued, hand sanded, stained once and coated with a layer of polyurethane to seal. We added a blue acrylic laser engraved and cut signature “M” (for Make San Antonio) as an inlay in the piece to give our medal a nice clean look.
In the front of the medal, we’ve laser engraved Fiesta 2016 on the top face and Make San Antnio on the bottom face. Also, we have red, blue, yellow and green ribbon drape options. In the back of teh medal, we laser engraved our website [makesanantonio.com] along wit the hashtag #makeSATX.
This wooden Fiesta medal won’t fall victim to any Fiesta inspired cascarón attacks, and is lightweight enough so it won’t weigh down your sash of medals. By purchasing this product, you’re not only supporting the do-it-yourself movement, but you’re also supporting a local small business!”
You can purchase one of their medals for $8 + shipping on their Etsy store!
